    Learning Experience Title
    Discovering Soil and connecting it with the growth of the plant
    Learning objectives
    
While having fun, exploring the composition of soil as well as comprehend its relevance in the growth of the plant.
To interact with children and engage with them. Activity to engage is planting seeds and then observing how they grow over the period of time.

    Brief description of the learning experience
    As a child this activity offers them a platform to explore soil types and their different textures. For instance, sand, clad, garden soil and mud.
Children will also learn how soil plays an important role to grow the plants. Essentially, children will plant seeds in very small pots, consistently water them and takes into consideration various changes that takes place over the period of time.
Children document these observations with the support of teacher. There are also special requirements taken into consideration for Peta's case such that he is comfortable to participate in the activity. Special adjustment like raising the garden bed such that they can reach and plant seeds even in the wheelchair.
Modifications also accommodate offering Peta with various adaptive gardening toolkits that can offer larger grips thereby ensuring her to internalize the activity, activity engage with instructions of the task and is clear what to perform at a given moment of time.

    Considerations for safety
    Taking care of all the tools provided to children aren’t sharp and child friendly. Also, consideration for special needs for Peta who would be participating in the wheelchair. Garden beds that are raised should be sturdy.
    How will parents/carers be included
    In this activity, we can invite James, Peta's father who can support in raising the garden beds that can support his daughter while the teachers are planning the activity. Similarly, other parents can also be involved to participate in this engagement activity to foster a strong sense of community.

    Children will develop several artworks that utilise natural materials like clay, soil and plants to create sculptures as well as paintings on various large canvases. This will enable them to value the resources, know about planet, Earth as well as express the creativity.
