Go to the Center for the Study of Mathematics Curriculum at http://www.mathcurriculumcenter.org and click on Curriculum Databases. Then click on State Mathematics Standards Database. Check to see if your state has mathematics standards available. If so, identify the grade-level expectations for whole-number computation that are identified for your state. Compare the expectations for your state with those of another state and with the recommendations from Focal Points (see Appendix B).
