Global Public RelationsGo to a global company's web site such as Coca-Cola or Microsoft. Examine the number of different countries that the company has a presence in. Then, determine the issues this company, or another large global company, may or may not encounter, or has already encountered, while maintaining a presence for their product and conducting public relations outside of the United States. Some issues that the company may face would include language barriers and cultural differences. Below are some issues you may wish to consider - see if the company you have picked has ever faced any of these challenges. Be sure to provide a few examples in your summary.

  • can all of the products be sold overseas or are there political or cultural barriers?

  • does the product name, when translated, give a negative image to the product?

  • is the global corporation 'political' in nature and therefore not fully accepted in some countries?

Political and cultural barriers for selling products overseas
All the products that are sold overseas have politica
l and cultural barriers. When a product is
sold in a foreign country, political roles play a deciding factor in a way that trade with a
company would not be possible if the two countries related to trade are not on good Political
terms. For instance, tensions between China and the West in the recent past was almost
going to result in restrictions on trade, this makes it easy to understand that politics play a
part in international trade (Whitten et. al, 2020).
Culture barriers are responsible for implying whether a product will be liked by the people or
not. People in a different country may not relate to a product as the country of origin does.
Any country where Coca-Cola has been released, it has become a major part of their culture
- usually is shown in music videos, inside vending machines or in movies. Even when they
become popular in other cultures, the original nature of the product as an American product
remains.
