Global Investment Portfolio Project -01 This project allows you to learn more about investment and about firms that compete in the global arena. Attention Please: Those of you who have taken other classes with me, where you had the same project CAN NOT submit the same report again. You MUST choose a different set of stock portfolio. Also, none of you are allowed to use reports submitted previously by other UWW students in previous semesters. This would be considered plagiarism and student(s) will be referred to the University for disciplinary actions. You must create a stock portfolio of 4 U.S.- based corporations and 4 foreign stocks by investing a maximum of $100,000 in each domestic stock and $100,000 in each international stock (Maximum of $800,000 for your portfolio. Please make sure you do not exceed these limits). You will monitor the performance of your portfolio during the semester and ultimately will attempt to explain why your portfolio performed well or poorly relative to the portfolios created by other students in the class. The explanations will offer insight on what is driving the valuations of the U.S.-based companies and the foreign stocks over time. Investment Process On September 14, 2012 you should determine which stocks you are investing your money in (use closing price of the selected stocks for that day). You should select four stocks of U.S.-based MNCs that you want to include in your portfolio. If you want to review a list of possible stocks or do not know the ticker symbol of the stocks you want to invest in, go to the website http://biz.yahoo.com/i/ where stocks are listed alphabetically or to http://biz.yahoo.com/p/, where stocks are listed under sectors or industries. Next, select four foreign stocks that are traded on U.S. stock exchanges, and are not from the same foreign country.
