Global business is a complicated stream of issues and challenges, and periodically includes enough rewards to keep things interesting. Making decisions in this environment is complicated but necessary. You will have longer timeframes to make some decisions, and other times will require an “informed gut” reaction based on the need for a quick turnaround.
Mini case studies in this class are set up to mimic these “short fuse” decisions. You will be given a case study which you need to address that day, completing the analysis and turning in the report on the same day (actually by 2 a.m. the next morning. The structure of the report is shown below.
Cover page – APA format
Case study introduction/overview of the situation
Analysis/issue(s) to be solved
Alternatives considered (at least two (2))
Recommendation(s)/Solution(s) – including a biblical basis for the decision
Conclusion
References - total of 4 - (course text plus one (1) additional scholarly reference within last five (5) years, plus other sources (note this is plural and required) that help document the situation and/or your response)
Use current APA format for all elements of the case study (no abstract required)
This exercise is also intended to help you learn to write in a concise manner. Therefore, paper length should be 2-3 pages double-spaced, excluding cover page and reference sheet. Make your introduction and conclusion meaningful, but spend the bulk of your time building a case for what you are doing and why you are doing it (the “body"). In documenting the biblical basis for the integration, you need to do more than quote a Bible verse and say because the Bible said “this.” True biblical integration requires a view of the situation through God’s eyes and actions. Turn in your paper in MSWord format according to the directions posted in the online classroom.
