Glendale is one of the many five-star hotels in the country. The management has a policy that the customers’ waiting time at the checkout counter should not be more than 10 minutes. In a study the management recorded the waiting times for 60 customers. The customers were selected using a systematic random sampling process. The data were analysed using SPSS. Some of the output from the analysis are shown in figure 1.



  1. State the 95% confidence interval for the mean waiting time for all the customers at the checkout counter and interpret what this interval means.

  2. Test if the mean waiting time is more than 10 minutes.
