    Wage gap literally refers to the unequal pay, provided as wages to a male and a female, employee for the same amount of work carried in an o

The wage-gap is highly aligned with gender bias, as male employees tend to get more wage than their female colleagues do in most of the countries and at number of workplaces, for the same quality and amount of work. The implication of wage gap is excessively adverse on women mental health, though the signs are not visible. The effect of wage-gap for women is reaching far and ensuring salary is not only a good practice morally, but an ethical way for employee retention. Elimination of wage gap bridges the gap between the economic status of men and women, which evidently improves in the development of a good mental health among women. The wage gap between men and women in the workplace is considered as an extension of the gender discrimination carried over in the world and which is among the most prevalent ones (Kim et al.).
    Some of the serious impact of the wage gap on the women mental health includes
Depression
    The severe most outcome of the wage gap on the women’s mental health emerges in the form of engrossing depression. As working in an organization in a long-time context occupies a significant parentage of time in a person’s life, and therefore, experiencing a work environment, where discrimination is made evident by wage gap for women generates stress and anxiety, leading to mental health degradation. However, wage gap is prevalent and continues with the time, increasing the frustration level of working-women as they feel given less priority in their respective organizations, despite matching the frequency of the work of the male counterparts. The women despite working on same level as that of men break the social gender-stereotypes, yet they feel inferior to men as the wage gaps sustain. The spread of wage gap is so prevalent and far reaching in all organising bodies, be it public or private, they women feel treated as inferior.
