Hi Mr Ade,

This module for me is different because is deals with personal and professional developments. The topics covered in the module are mostly things we go through in our daily life and activities but developed to help in professional career.Skills for effective communication for example is something as a cover I use everyday without knowing it’s importance.Emotional intelligence in contrast I know nothing about but when we had the lecture on emotional intelligence, it relates to a lot of things and ways we as career look after resident in a care home.
Kind regards.

Introduction
The need for development and change is essential in the modern world. Ensuring overall growth of performance and creativity is basic towards a sustainable future and t
hus it becomes essential for the development of the future prospects. Personal development helps to take into account the opportunities and strategically develop the future. This report is based on the development of the personal and professional skills based on various theories and modules.
1. Overview of Learning throughout Module
Kolb’s Reflective Model
Figure 1: Kolb’s Learning Cycle
The Kolb’s reflective model is based on experiential learning. The model is that the experience drives the way people understand knowledge. The experience has to go through several stages in order to convert their experience into an opportunity of learning. The stages do not have to in sequence. There are four main stages, which are in the process of an experience being converted into learning, which are Concrete Experience, Reflective Observation, Abstract Conceptualisation and Active Experimentation (Subekti, 2020).
Concrete Experience
The first stage is concrete experience. This is when the person experiences a situation and they start to reflect on it. This concrete experience causes the person to either learn a new skill or understand how to improve an already existing skill. This is the stage where the person understands the situation and how it affects them. They acknowledge how the situation can affect their learning and understanding of a particular situation. This is the situation, which triggers the entire cycle.
Reflective Observation
The second stage is reflective observation. Reflective Observation takes place when the situation is written down in order to understand it clearly. The reflection of the situation helps the person to ask questions about the learning triggered. The questions that are asked in the stage leads to understanding the situation thoroughly and on a level deeper than just a surface level understanding. The situation is gauged to understand what elements worked, what did not, what the cause was and why everyone reacted to the situation in the way that they did.
Abstract Conceptualisation
The third stage is abstract conceptualisation. The questions from the previous stage form the basis even to question it further. The first question is to understand how the situation could have been changed. This is to understand whether any specific elements could have improved upon. To understand the various ways one can deal with the situation and things to do when one comes across similar situations. This is the stage where the person starts to try actively to understand the situation. They consult colleagues and research in order to learn about the new revelation they have had (Morris, 2020).
Active Experimentation
The fourth stage is active experimentation. This stage is where the person starts to implement what they already learnt. They use the reflections they have had and their new learning and try to understand how it works in real life context. This becomes the experiences, which shape the person’s learning and these ensure the basis of the next cycle, which occurs.
Emotional Intelligence
Emotional Intelligence or Emotional Quotient is defined as the ability of a person to understand, manage and use their emotions in positive ways. The ways could include relieving stress, communicating effectively, the ability to empathise, the ability to overcome conflict and defuse tension. Emotional Intelligence is a very important tool that can be used in order to build stronger and healthier relationships with friends, family and colleagues (Goleman and Boyatzis, 2017). It allows people to connect with their feelings, be aware of the impact of their actions and be able to make sound decisions.
2. Relationship with Myself
The key to emotional intelligence is to be aware of how they manage their emotions and how they react to people’s emotions. This is important in a field like health care where emotions are integral to their profession (Hill and Bartol, 2018). Emotions can be used as a tool in the field of health care and ensure that it benefits them in their relationship with their patients. Emotions allow patients to feel understood and care for. There are researches that show emotion and kindness in the interaction between them and their patients are likely to have better outcomes and satisfaction. The four attributes that will look into in context to my own abilities are the following, which are Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Skills and Relationship Management.
Self-Awareness
The first trait is Self-Awareness. This trait is being self-aware of how one emotion is and how they react to other’s emotions (Van Oosten, Buse and Bilimoria, 2017). This self-awareness is one of my traits that are very prominent. I am aware of my emotions and the way I handle most situations. I tend to be understanding of how people react to situations and how my reaction can affect them positively or negatively. This awareness has helped to maintain relationships and ensure connections with the people around me.
Self-Management
The second trait is Self-Management. The trait is how one conducts themselves and their emotions even in stressful situations. This is about maintaining a level head and not letting their emotions cloud their judgements. This might be a skill of mine, which I will have to work on. I am level headed and I tend to keep my cool in most situations. This is a skill, which I will have to work on, in order to ensure that I can do so in stressful situations. As I tend to lose my cool and be in control of how I react in situations that may be volatile.
Social Skills
The third trait is social skills. These are the skills, which a person needs in order to interact with another person and develop a relationship. This is another skill, which is one of my strengths. I can interact with new people easily and I am good with people in general. I am easy going and extroverted and can communicate with people easily. I am good with understanding how people act and how they like to interact. I can pick up on social...
