About Geoffrey Holder
Geoffrey Holder was a renowned dancer, choreographer, actor and painter born in the year 1930 at Trinidad in British West Indies. He learnt painting and dancing from his elder brother Boscoe Holder and joined his dance troupe known by the name of Holder Dance Company at the age of seven. Apart from being a great and skilled dancer and choreographer, Holder was also a talented painter that sold a few of his good works in painting to raise the required funds so that he could shift the Holder Dance Company to New York in 1954. Later, he was given the Guggenheim fellowship to learn painting in 1957, owing to his interest and love for painting.
