What does feminism mean to you?
I am a proud feminist moreover I think you must be. However, I need to clarify something about what feminism mean to me: Feminism is for everyone. Unfortunately, the feminists on this planet feel that they are improved at becoming better than the others. In past, colored women were often excluded from sports by white women. That time (hope) is over, however as feminists, it is significant to remain critical or to become more reflective of our movements. There is no wrong or right way to become a feminist. So let us are inclusive (Charles et al.). Regardless of gender, skin color, nationality, educational background, headscarf or no headscarf, you choose to stay at home as an adult woman, what is not. If you represent equal opportunities and rights, you are an equal feminist. Many times, when I tell others that I am a feminist, people seem to laugh or hate or say 'Oh yes, I support the women's rights, however I am not one of them'. The situation became even more interesting when I said that I asked my future life partner to publicly say that they were also feminists (Harnois). If I said that I'm a feminist, this does not mean that you want me to behave like man. That means I need to be capable and I have the option to participate in similar opportunities like men. This means that I need girls to believe in all our strengths and intellects in our society, whether we are in a sexually assaulting role or not. Marriage is about choice. And to decide whether or not it is necessary to have children, but whether your job is important or the child is and you decide whether you are staying at home or not making a decision. What you choose is that you are the one who chooses the same and you must act as a community so that women should not put pressure on pre-defined role. Do not tell the women what to do.
Over time, the definition of the feminism has also changed lots. I think the greatest version we have nowadays is cross-feminism, that is, people and women experience the oppression in various ways as well as in varying degrees (Hesford, and Diedrich) . This mode of oppression is interrelated. Such as, if woman is a disabled person and is not a heterosexual, she faces other types of the discrimination. Feminism wants to be crossed to truly apply to people live and to start to eliminate the various forms of oppression and discrimination that people face.
Feminism is an ideology, analytical frame work, a policy...
