For this assignment, you will select a recent op-ed and analyze an argument in the article using the tools of informal logic.

(1) Select a recent op-ed from the list below:

When policy works; Reducing poverty

The Green Revolution in Africa Has Unequivocally Failed

The case against non-fungible tokens

(2) Analyze one key argument from your selected op-ed. You do not need to submit a narrative essay, answer the prompts below:

(a) Reconstruct the op-ed's argument (approx 200 words)

- Explain whether the op-ed makes an inductive or deductive argument.

- Explicitly use the terminology of informal logic (such as premise, conclusion, conditional, connective, quantifier, etc.).

- For deductive arguments, make sure to put it in valid premise-conclusion form (P1, P2, etc).

(b) Evaluate the op-ed's argument (approx 250 words)

- Endorse or reject the argument, explicitly using the terminology of informal logic (such as validity, soundness, and fallacy).

- For deductive arguments, evaluate the premises of the argument, giving support or objections to at least one.

- For inductive arguments, evaluate whether it is strong or weak.

(c) Develop a Counter-argument (approx. 250 words)

- Provide at least one counterargument to your view.

- Then, respond to your own argument using the language of informal logic as appropriate

(3) Use properAPA style guidelinesto cite appropriate, scholarly work (https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/). You do not need to do a large amount of outside research for this paper, but must properly cite any research you do.

Reconstruct of Argument
Patrick, in his approach to the provided article over the controversial issue of investment in NFT, structures the argument in deductive way. His argument can be reconstructed by setting up the premises of his statement. The first standpoint in his argument is to relate NFT (non-fungible tokens) with the virtual world. The deductive nature of his argument ensures that virtual world, beliefs of people in it and how NFT can be the future of virtual reality can be stated here. For him, NFT is the source of reducing status anxiety (p1). Therefore, this can be the possible and potential source of people buying NFTs in large numbers because they can get access to various gains in virtual world to compensate their real world existential crisis (conclusion). The argument goes further with second premise which is more like a connector to the p1; the strength that people have to buy online which they cannot do in real world (premise). Thus, they can dominate through their marked presence in virtual world where they can buy anything of their choice (conclusion). The third and final premise of the deductive argument is linked to the development of virtual reality as a promising sector for investment and huge...
