In the article “Abuse of the Human Rights of Prisoners in the United States: Solitary
Confinement,” the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has put much emphasis on the
wretched condition of human rights in US prisons. In the article the ACLU has urged the
Human Rights Council to address the violations of human rights within the prisons and
through the banning of practices like solitary confinement (ACLU, 2017). Stemming from the
solitary confinement of prisoners, the violation of human rights has enshrouded the prison
