For this assignment, you will make edits to a Wikipedia page and write about the experience.
First, think about your relationship to Wikipedia. What are your attitudes towards the site? What do you use it for? Have you made edits before? Why/why not?
Now, watch the video about how to edit a page. Make edits to a page of your own choosing. You can choose any topic, and you can add correct information, or incorrect information (some people like the experiment).Take a screenshot of the page before, and after your changes. Highlight or underline the edit so it's clear what you changed, andupload both visuals in your paper.

Please make your changes by Thursday. After a day or two, go back and check the page. Are your changes still there?
Does this exercise make you feel differently at all about Wikipedia (the sixth most popular website in the world)? How does your experience relate to the readings for this week, or from previous weeks?

Write up your paper in the usual format, using a 5 paragraph essay structure. Your paper should have the following elements:

• Be about 400-700 words in length (about 2 pages double spaced)


• Respond to the writing prompt


• Synthesize information from the class readings and apply it to your own life.
  


• Follow a5 paragraph essay structurewith anintroduction, thesis statement, paragraphs with topic sentences that provide evidence, and a conclusion. (For assistance in writing, please see D2L-->content->writing resources).


• Properlycite at least two sources.These can be our class readings, or outside sources. Citations should be noted in parentheses in the text, and listed at the end of the essay under references. Pleaseuse APA style.


• Include the before and aftervisuals, and a caption.The caption should be a complete sentence, located below the visual.
