The current approach to, · Curriculum design and curriculum provision for all stakeholders Curriculum Design · The curriculum is designed in a way to ensure that the physical, social and emotional well-being of every child in our care is maintained, their health and nutritional needs are satisfied, and all whilst providing an individualised play-based learning programme to foster their intellectual and moral development. Curriculum Provision · We value the unique experiences, culture and qualities of every educator and encourage them to share these with their colleagues, children, and families. · We encourage educators to be a resource and guide for children’s learning by organising environments that are rich in possibilities and provocations. · We empower educators with professional development, constructive review of their performance, and by inclusion in the on-going cycle of policy renewal. · We provide educators with rostered time for maintaining developmental records, reflecting on each child’s progress and to prepare future learning activities. · Theoretical underpinnings, approaches, ideologies, and program models · Providing a warm, safe, caring and stimulating child-centred learning environment that meets the unique developmental needs of each child. · Believing that the quality of early relationships, experiences and environment lays the foundation for all development that will follow. · Recognising that each child has a unique set of background experiences, culture, knowledge and interests, which we use to tailor his or her learning programme. · Acknowledging that children are active competent learners who make sense of their environments through play by investigating, exploring and hypothesising. · Curriculum content knowledge · We aim to immerse children in a space that reflects the child’s home and familial context on a daily basis, embedded in an open and respectful culture where learning is valued, and autonomy is encouraged. Our philosophy is grounded in the EYLF’s Belonging, Being and Becoming strategy. Children learn best when they feel a sense of Belonging, which we foster as our educators form connections and bonds with children, families and the wider community, and strengthen by encouraging involvement at all levels. Enabling children to play, to explore and investigate according to their interests, and to encounter and overcome challenges (with scaffolding as appropriate) develops their sense of Being.
