Violent crime is a crime in which the offender or the doer of the crime threatens the other person. He/she threatens to use force on the victim. It is not necessary that violent crimes should be committed with the use of weapons. It can happen without the use of weapons too. Murder and rape are considered to be few of the most violent crimes in the world. Harrassment and Homicide are the two types of violent crimes and the decision whether the crime is harassment or homicide depends on the jurisdiction. There are many crimes which are considered as violent crimes, Airplane hijacking, burglary, terrorists, kidnappers and others are the major crimes that are classified into violent crimes. Even though homicide crimes are considered as a separate section in the criminal law many consider murders and the man slaughter to be violent crimes.( Walby, S., Towers, J., & Francis, B. (2015). ) The FBI i.e. the Federal Bureau of Investigation defines the 4 categories of violent crimes: Forcible Rape, Murders, Robbery, and Aggravated Assault. Both state and the centre considers sexual crimes as violent crimes. Rape is a form of event in which a person forces himself / herself on another person without the other party’s consent. It can be achieved with the help of emotional manipulation or even forced. Statutory rape is an event in which the person has sexual relationships with the person who is of lesser age than the sexual age of consent.
