For the purpose of this assignment you are a newly appointed Health and Safety Manager for an organization employing 1000 staff.
During a recent review of the organization policies and procedures you have identified that there is little or no protection for the 250 staff who regularly travel overseas. Staff travel to destinations worldwide to and attend meetings and conferences. Staff in this organisation are diverse in terms of age, gender, nationality and travel experience.
You must write a report to the Board of Directors to convince them why they need to address the issue in terms of legislation, the importance of Health and Safety surrounding international travel, and also set out what should be considered when putting a procedure in place.
Your report will be no more than 2000 words.
Marking Scheme:
1. Structure of the report, fluency of writing, appropriate word count. 10%
2. Appropriate sources used and referenced (including bibliography) 10%
3. Content of assignment including identification, discussion and evaluation of
key points 80%
The report front page should show that the assignment is in partial submission for the award you are undertaking. Your course i.e. BSc(Hons) SHEM
There should be a margin of 3cms at the left and right. Type font using 12 Arial and should be spaced 1.5 lines.
To help you give your report a structure ideally the report should have:
1. Index – and index of any tables and figures
2. An introduction which also gives the aim of the assignment
3. Findings of discussion
4. Conclusion and recommendations
5. References
6. Appendices
