How can you infer the audience?
Meike Wolf is a medical anthropologist. He specializes in the field of medical and cultural anthropology. The article has been written for medical researchers in all fields in the authors attempt to advocate ‘one health’ contexts that encompass all fields of health sciences.
2. What is the main argument and the goal of the writing? How would you explain the main point of the article to the class?
The main argument and goal of writing this paper has been to argue and establish that the reason for human animal disease interaction are social factors and that these social factors are important to understanding the cause, spread and handling of infectious diseases. This point can be explained to the class through the fact that one single element is usually not responsible for a disease, instead multiple factors are. For example, spread of an infectious disease like TB depends on both the exposure to TB virus as well as the immunity of the person exposed.
