Massachusetts Bay Colony is one of the oldest English settlements concerning present time in Massachusetts. This colony was settled in 1630 by a group of Puritan refugees (1000 refugees) who came from England under Gov. John Winthrop. One of the major rationale behind settlement of this colony was to establish a colony that, would accord with the ‘God’s wishes’ as per Puritan’s beliefs.
