Find an advertisement, either print or digital, that uses both verbal and visual elements. Analyze its argument by answering some of the questions on pages 329–33. Then switch ads with a classmate, and analyze his or her argument. Compare your responses to the two ads. If they’re different—and they probably will be—how do you account for the differences? What effect does the audience have on the argument’s reception? What differences appear between your own active reading and your classmate’s?
