Final Project Summary
This research project is about a New York City neighborhood and must be presented in multimedia format (examples: PowerPoint, charts/photos, a short film, or a combination). The project will build on information gathered for Assignment #3.
As part of the assignment, complete the following:
• Describe how the community has changed over the past 50-70 years (20%)
• Describe the issues confronting the community and how they have been impacted by New York politics (20%)
• Focus on a current policy initiative and explain the problem it is meant to address (20%)
• Describe the constituency being served by the initiative (20%)
• Assess the effectiveness of the initiative (20%)
The final project must reference a minimum of three secondary sources (no Wikipedia) and must use APA format for references list. If completed in film format, it must be at least 5 minutes long).
Provide a summary of your project in one well-developed paragraph, including:
• What community did you choose, and how has it changed? (1-2 sentences)
• What initiative did you choose, and what problem is the initiative meant to address? (1-2 sentences)
• According to your sources (define them), what is the initiative's effectiveness? (1 sentence)
• What other findings if any did you discover? (1-2 sentences)
• Submit the above PLUS accompanying power point, slide show, video, essay etc. Be creative but make sure it covers all these points.
Provide substantive feedback on at least one of your peers' projects. What did they do particularly well? What thoughts/questions do you have after viewing their project?
