Final Assignment (5 pages) The following is an assignment to assess your mastery of the course concepts regarding the counseling process. You will need to develop a fictitious case for this assignment. Keep the questions listed below in mind as you develop this case.  My best advice is to keep the case simple. Please be mindful of spelling and grammar, and include citations to support your clinical decisions.Start early with this, and  perhaps do a section at a time. Don't Leave this for The Last Minute! Part I (2 pages) 1) Identify and describe in one paragraph the main issue you are focused on in your work with this individual. This would have been arrived at after an exhaustive assessment process in collaboration with the individual. These usually fall into the following categories: emotional, behavioral, cognitive, relational, or spiritual (related to a sense of meaning). 2) In several sentences provide identifying characteristics regarding this individual: age, gender, occupation, marital status, ethnicity etc. 3)  Identify and describe in 1 paragraph the effects the presenting issue may be having on this individual in at least one of the areas listed below: · Emotional (feelings)features · Cognitive (thought) features · Behavioral features (effects on actions) · Interpersonal features- (interactions with others) · Spiritual (sense of meaning) 4) Identify and describe in one paragraph the stage of counseling you are in with this individual as you meet today: (The stage you choose should inform your focus for the session and the interventions chosen) Stage 1 Assessing or defining the presenting problem and initiating a working relationship. Stage 2 Identifying and setting goals while maintaining a working relationship. Stage 3 Choosing and initiating interventions while maintaining a working relationship. Stage 4 Planning and implementing evaluation and termination. 5) Identify and describe in one paragraph any special cultural considerations you have had to consider in your work with this individual, and how you've accommodated these? 6) Identify in one paragraph any transference or counter-transference issues encountered in your work with this individual, and what have you done to address these.. 7) Using the goal setting map provide a goal, a measurable sub-goal (short-term), and 2 measurable interventions that can directly apply to your session of today with this individual- They need to be logical and link to one another assisting the individual in achieving the named goal 8) Identify the purpose of today’s session, and what you hope to accomplish   Part II (2 full pages) Write a 2 page script capturing your interactions with this client in a mock session. How is the space set up, how are the chairs arranged, Set up the narrative by identifying and labeling when the counselor speaks, and when the client speaks. Use parentheses to indicate any verbal or non-verbal factors in the communication between counselor and client.  Examples: John-Client: (with raised voice and angry tone with muscles all tensed)  said_________  or John-Client (spoken almost in a whisper with sad affect, hunched over, while looking down at the floor) responded__________ Counselor (leaning forward, communicating empathy) stated____________ The script should be based on the information you have already provided regarding this case, and what you are working on today. *Based on what you’ve outlined in your case description focus on incorporating any emotional, cognitive, behavioral, or systemic interventions covered this semester into your script that might be applicable. Consider your goal and your stage in the counseling process in your choice of interventions. I need you to demonstrate some basic understanding of these interventions and how they are actually practiced.  Part III (1page) Analyze your mock session using course materials to support your clinical decisions: · Explain your process as it occurred in your mock session based on the case factors you have documented · Identify the interventions used in the mock session, and why they were chosen · The client’s reactions to these interventions based on what has been indicated in the text regarding these · Did you achieve what you set out to achieve in this session? Progress made? · Any  challenges  the counselor or the client need to address based on the session · Focus for the next session, what’s the next step?any homework

Part 1
Characteristics of client
Janine had three sons, one of who was 11 years old, the other 14 years old, and the oldest of whom was 17 years old, and she had been happily married for 20 years. Janine had explored in depth law. We determined if she was a "good mom" by asking her how she dealt with the rigours of motherhood. Worry and tension drove her to seek comfort on parenting issues from her spouse. We agreed to meet for sessions, with the session serving as an evaluation of our progress. Her purpose, she explained, was to delve into her history since she had forgotten how she felt during her youth.
Issue and its Impact
Janine's parents split, and her mother was never emotionally there for her as she grew up. As a youngster, Janine felt that she was the protector and couldn't communicate her thoughts to her mother for fear of hurting her. She got through difficult conversations by rationalising her responses in order to escape the anxiety and anguish that came with those memories. Surprisingly, and maybe as a result of the above comment, Janine has a lot of anxiety in conflict situations. And she has a hard time dealing with them.
The stage of counseling
We are on stage one with the client, which is Identifying and clarifying the problem at hand, as well as establishing a working connection. Janine use of rationalization is as a coping mechanism for her inner sorrow and worry. Janine has been using for as long as she can remember, and it is "who she is" to her. I believe that if we can help her reconnect with those feelings in a safe environment where she is not judged for allowing herself to be vulnerable through our relationship, she will be able to sense her emotional world more fully again. My hypothesis is that she still perceives herself as the protector, thus she prioritises others, supported by Ströhle, Gensichen, & Domschke (2018). Furthermore, she may feel vulnerable today because she was rarely asked how she was as a child by her parents.
Cultural and ethical consideration
"I can sense the anguish and sorrow you must have had not knowing your pleasure was essential," I said, expressing empathy. This was one of the few times I felt a genuine shift in her understanding...
