Abstract
Facebook is a platform created for community and seamless interactions. Their mission is to “give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together [4]”.Behind the scene, they manipulate and use personal information based on browsing habits from its users to set incertitude on the information that shows on the user device. Facebook succeeds its mission by delivering an intimate relationship between its computer server and the client. Its operating system is legally authorized to retrieve, search and sort through the data of its users through their platform without the consent of the user.
While we chat and make conversation with our friends, it is within their rights to store that information, and market it. Should our data be a free service, or should it receive compensation? What about cyber threats that attacks these databases? Unfortunately, personal information for its users have always been compromised through continuous cyber-attacks. These attacks can turn out to be another source of income for attackers at the expense of the user’s information.
