Abstract
One of the most flexible companies in context of Multinational Corporation is Mc Donald’s. This feature
of the company was
being cleared by its product differentiation. One of the prime strategies of the
company has been product differentiation while entering the foreign markets. Teriyaki burgers in Japan,
McPork Burgers and McTempeh in Indonesia, McSpaghetti in the Philippines and McLox Salmon
sandwiches in Norway are some of the concrete examples of McDonald’s capability to amend its products
according to the tastes and requirements of the people in the international market, which the company
have successfully implemented in every country. Every country requires different strategies to make
changes in the products; these may be minor and some times major.
Since, Mc Donald’s is the most famous and renowned food chain across the globe amongst all age
groups, therefore the strategic management plan of the company had been created and implemented in
accordance with the rules and regulations of each country and people. Also to further increase the sales
and level of customer satisfaction it is very important for the company to review its strategies and policies
year on year and keep their prime goal as customer satisfaction.
Mc Donald’s Strategies
‘Plan to win’ is the company’s strategic plan. The strategy is based on the concept of being counted
amongst the best quality fast food restaurant chain instead of being the world’s biggest chain in fast food
restaurant. Mc Donald’s is consistently following a proper marketing mix consisting of 5P’s for a
successful market and for satisfied customers. These are People, Product, Price, Place and Promotion.
With the marketing mix, the company blends its strategic plans for geographical features very well.
In the United States of America, Mc Donald’s have kept their focus of the strategic plans on the breakfast,
chicken, beverages and convenience. The market of Mc Donald’s in USA works on these core areas only
as the people prefer these.
In the market of Europe, McDonald’s has been following their tiered menu approach. The menu offers its
people premium selections, menu with classic flavor, and the menu that is affordable by the people per
day. They also ’complement these with new products and limited-time food promotions’.
In the markets of Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Africa, McDonald’s strategic management plan has
