Science from Theistic to Naturalistic
Earlier in history, or rather prehistory, knowledge was something
that was passed down from one generation to another, more in the form of tradition rather than reflection. In the beginning, it was orally passed down, and once humans began to write, this was done so through writing systems.
Even with the writing system, most scientific knowledge was observational. Recordings have been found regarding astronomical observations and observations of nature and the human body. There was little speculation or questioning. The ancient civilization took a holistic approach to life and surroundings. They recorded about human physiology, alchemy and flora and fauna.
Learning was renewed starting from 12th century onwards shifting from theistic to naturalistic in focus. With renaissance taking root, there was increased focus on chemistry and the biological sciences.
