PURPOSE:
To develop an experimental process to assess an AM radio's comparative performance.
APPARATUS:
A digital multimeter for measuring voltage at various places, a signal trace CRO for seeing waveforms, CRO probes, a functio
n generator, power amplifiers, resistors, capacitors, a diode (a germanium diode that produces continuous reverse voltage), and a transistor are all used.
A function generator is often a piece of electronic test gear used to produce various electrical waveforms across a broad frequency range. Sine wave, square wave, triangle wave, and sawtooth wave are a few of the most significant waveforms it may create.
Push-pull amplifiers: Often employed in applications where high output power, high efficiency, and little distortion are required.
Resistors: Used to split voltages, bias active materials, reduce current flow, modify signal levels, terminate transmission lines, etc.
Diode: Used to produce radio-frequency oscillations (tunnel diodes, Gunn diodes, IMPATT diodes), control voltage (Zener diode), shield circuits from high voltage surges (avalanche diodes), electronically tune radio and TV receivers (varactor diodes), etc.
The three terminal semiconductor device known as a transistor is used to control current flow or to amplify an input signal into a stronger output signal. to switch electrical signals, as well.
Used to hold electrical charge are capacitors (i.e. energy storage). Power conditioning, signal coupling , decoupling, electronic noise filtering, and remote sensing are further applications.
THEORY:
Several forms of radio wave propagation exist in the atmosphere. Using information, we change one of its properties. As a result, information may be gathered by collecting those radio waves.
For instance:
The radio carrier's amplitude varies in AM radio in line with the information. In contrast, the frequency of the carrier in FM radio changes depending on the information. , but it's not all there yet. Few. But it's all there. There are no other words. These can thus be received individually.
Receiving signals:
An antenna that releases radio waves into the environment may also take in energy from it. Thus, antenna is used in the receiver. This antenna is now set to a certain frequency using a variable capacitor called a "gang" across it. Hence, we can acquire one well-known ratio carrier at a time. This...
