Overview of victimization and crime in the U.S. and the present statistics
It has been observed that from the year 1993 to 2021, the rate of the violent victimization in the United States declined from 79.8 to 16.5 per 1,000 individuals who are of age 12 or even older. Women are always
are on the greater risk when compared with the men for the stalking victimization but women and men are equally quite likely to experience harassment. The people of stalking behaviours had the following: Making the unwanted phone calls, following or spying on the victim, leaving unwanted presents, showing up at places without any kind of proper reason, posting information or even spreading rumours about the victim (Owens, 2016).
As per the FBI, index crime in the U.S. consists of property crime and violent crime. However, it can be stated that it is not easy to say for certain about the types of crime that occurs. Both Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) both have stated that there have been dramatic decrease in the property and violent crimes in this country since the 1990s, when crime spread like fire across this country. At present Americans believe in the fact that crime is in the upper side even when the data shows it is down
Property crime in this country is much more common when contrasted to the violent crime. In the year 2019, it was reported by FBI that there were more than 2,100 property related crimes in U.S. per 1, 00,000 inhabitants, but there has been 4.5% reduction when contrasted with 2018. Property related crime in the US is exceptionally normal contrasted with different sorts of criminal cases like manslaughters. Albeit fierce violations have a higher rate than vandalism, a few measures must be laid out to diminish these criminal cases. The Government Department of Examination in its Uniform Lawbreaker Revealing system characterizes vandalism as a kind of an offense that includes robbery, engine vehicle burglary, pyro-crime, and burglary robbery. Other known kinds of property related misconduct excluded from UCR program are falsifying, pick pocketing, shoplifting and embezzlement. The above cases are legitimately endorsed by the US government resolution, and any wrongdoer is responsible for his/her activities (Freemon et al., 2022).
Another type of crime that is quite common in the U.S. is basically the violent crime. Furthermore, one such violent crime is murder. The public feelings of trepidation this sort of savagery most for clear reasons. In the year 2018, the FBI's SHR estimated that 1,214 people in the US were murdered.39In terms of a rate, 5.0 per100, and 000 people were killed in the US during 2018. This is not exactly the 5.3 killings per100, 000 kept in the year 2017. However, surprisingly men and boys are murdered at a greater rate when contrasted with women and girls. The sex of under 1% of casualties couldn't be recognized (0.2%).41Whites are killed at lower rates, and in lower numbers, than Blacks. Not exactly 50% of all murder casualties in 2018 (43.1%) were White, 52.4% were Dark, and 2.8% were another race. The race of a...
