Example of a Mind-Mapping Activity
Jacob Chikuhwa is a 75-year-old patient who is 1 day postop after major surgery for oesophageal cancer. He has an IV running at 80 mL per hour and a patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) of morphine. At 0700 hours, his vital signs were T 37°C, pulse rate 110 beats per minute (weak and thready), respiratory rate 20 breaths per minute and blood pressure 110/55 mm Hg. His urine output is averaging 10 to 15 mL per hour. In groups, create a mind map that illustrates the pathophysiology related to Mr. Chikuhwa's current situation and the related thinking processes. See Fig. 33.1.
