Examine how your friends’ central dispositions relate to their expressive behaviors. Review your findings from the Thinking Critically box “Central Dispositions.” Write down the main descriptors for each of your friends. Then start paying attention to their expressive behaviors over a few days to see if these behaviors inform their central personalities. Allport and Vernon examined several expressive features as they studied personality: the face, voice, posture, gesture, gait, and handwriting. You can do the same as you hang out with your friends. Does one expressive behavior inform the others? Are they connected or disconnected? Explain your findings.
