Even though Wolff is an anarchist, he says he obeys the laws on the basis of “the obvious moral considerations concerning the value of order” and “the general good consequences of preserving a system of property.” In making these statements, hasn’t Wolff provided reasons why government should exist and why, under the best circumstances, it can legitimately exercise authority? Hasn’t he undermined his argument for anarchism?
