Evaluating nitrogen deposition from the atmosphere is a major role of the National Atmospheric Deposition Program (NADP), a partnership of many agencies. NADP is studying atmospheric deposition and its effect on agricultural crops, forest surface waters, and other resources. Nitrogen oxides may affect the ozone in the atmosphere and the amount of pure nitrogen in the air we breathe. The data are as follows:
