This project is to apply the ideas and theories of either David Suzuki or Henry Jenkins to an analysis of a particular event or issue in society today. Your report will consist of research and discussion of the ideas of either Suzuki or Jenkins and the analysis of those ideas in a particular context. You will not do any primary research. The topics for the project are listed below in more detail. The proposal should refine and scope the topic, offering a well-defined research question. More information on how to accomplish this will be covered in class. Use the basic structure of the Research Proposal offered below as a guide. Also, ensure it conforms to APA or MLA format. Research Topics: Choose one of the following: A. Learn about the work and ideas of David Suzuki and apply your knowledge to an analysis of an event or issue in society today as a case study. For example: “How can the ideas of David Suzuki help to understand the debate over the Enbridge pipeline in Northern British Columbia?” You will need to focus on a particular part of David Suzuki’s mass volume of writings, activism and ideas, and then consider how his work can help to understand and/or resolve a particular problem or debate in society. Plan for an essay of about 1200-1500 words. B. Learn about the work and ideas of Henry Jenkins and apply your knowledge to an analysis of an event or issue in society today as a case study. For example: “How can the ideas of Henry Jenkins help to understand the debate over the use of video games in the elementary school classroom?” You will need to focus on a particular part of Henry Jenkins’ mass volume of writings, activism and ideas, and then consider how his work can help to understand and/or resolve a particular problem or debate in society. Plan for an essay of about 1200-1500 words. Your Research Proposal must have the following headings: ? Project Description (Main Proposal) o Introduction – What is the project? Research Question? o Rationale and Significance – Why is this project important? What will we learn? ? Plan of the work o Scope – What will the project cover? o Method – What research will be used? The issue that whether computer games can be considered as a form of ar
t is contentious
but with the progress in time now it has become essential to find out whether or not computer
games can be placed in the same position in which traditional art forms have been placed. The
primary question that is going to be answered through the concerned research is that can
computer games be treated as forms of art?
Rationale and Significance
The growing rate of popularity of computer games and the immense effort of the
designers of these games to infuse more reality into the games have incited the argument that
computer games should be treated as an art form. Keeping in mind this rate of popularity of
computer games the research is going to be conducted and this research is needed to find out the
importance of computer games, in the context of this modern society, as a form of true art. From
this research project we are going to learn how computer games gained so much of popularity,
what are the merits and demerits of computer games, and why or why not computer games
should be considered as a modern genre of art.
