Employee recruitment is a crucial phase as it involves selection of most important asset of the
company; looking for new welders involve number of stages such as searching of potential
candidates, defining different sources and tools used for search, proced
ure of selecting them by
employing different tools and techniques such as test, interviews etc. Before starting the hiring
process a detailed job description will be prepared and approved, it will help in understanding the
job requirement clearly and also facilitate in selecting correct candidate (Patterson, et al., 2009).
The hiring process of the employees will start from searching for potential candidate. As the
company is already operating in the local market so firstly candidate will be searched within the
organization for expansion, then jobs will be posted on job portals, advertisement will be given
in local papers as well. Major sources of potential employees includes participating in job fairs
where company target large employee segment at a time, job agencies, competitors or people
currently working in the industry etc (Burke, 2010).
After collecting employees application and screening it, starts the selection process of the
candidate. There are different test that potential candidates need to cross different tests such as
drug test, UV examination, language test and eye test. They should also fulfill minimum
qualification criteria, after this interview must be organized for selecting candidates, it will be
technical interview that will test the ability and technical knowledge of the candidate. One to one

direct interview will be conducted to analyze the personal and technical knowledge of candidate.
Later on practical test will be conducted to test practical competencies of the candidate (Catano,
2009).
Major problems that might be encountered during selection of employees are related to high cost,
time required and retaining the staff.
