    As per the point of view of Edin and Shaefer in term of affording housing crisis, the main causes of this crisis are a general shortage of housing stock because of a stagnant supply that response to the demand growth. Other causes include increased competition in the private rental market, demographic changes that influence the household composition, and the unsustainability of the public housing model.
