PART B

This week, you will submit Part B of your course project.

Part B should include the following:

·Sampling: A description of how you or your source obtained the samples. Include sample sizes, population of interest, and description of sample. This includes a copy of the survey if you used one.

·Data: The actual data and a summary of the counts.

·Descriptive Statistics for your data:

oMean

oMode

oMedian

oStandard deviation of your data (2 sets if you are doing 2 means)

oAt least two graphs (such as box plots, scatter plots, stem-and-leaf, histograms, etc.)

·Your working references

Use APA to create your References page. Additionally, if you choose to create a survey, submit your list of questions.

Part B of your course project will be graded according to the below criteria:

·Sampling method: 20%

·Data: 20%

·Descriptive statistics: 50%

·Working Reference(s) using APA - 10%

·Total - 100%

Submit Part B to your instructor

This week, you will submit Part C of your course project. In Part C you will assume that your data is normally distributed and calculate what a data value would be if it had a z-scores:

·1

·-1.25

·2.12

·-3.5

Determine the probability of each of these data values occurring in your sample. Interpret the results from your calculations.

PART E

In Unit 5 you will submit your final project. To do this, you must perform hypothesistesting to draw your conclusions. You will submit your final project in the Unit 5.

Your final project should include Parts A through E, which includes the following:

·Sampling: A description of how you or your source obtained the samples. Include sample sizes, population of interest, and description of sample. This includes a copy of the survey if you used one. (Part B)

·Data: The actual data and a summary of the counts. (Part B)

·Descriptive Statistics: The mean, mode, median, and standard deviation of your data (2 sets if you are doing 2 means).
This should also include at least two graphs (such as box plots, scatter plots, stem-and-leaf, histograms, etc.) summarizing the descriptive statistics. (Part B)

·Z-Score Analysis:Various z-scores calculated from your data set. (Part C)

·Confidence Intervals:A confidence interval for the focus of your project. (Part D)

·Hypothesis Testing:
Show your hypothesis tests. Discuss any conclusions they suggest.(New Component)

·Conclusion: Discuss the weaknesses of your study. Include any confounding variables. To what population do you feel comfortable extrapolating your results? Why? Give suggestions for further work in the area of your topic. Be sure to reference the situation as you discuss your conclusion. Explain what lead you to the conclusion(s) that you have drawn. (New Component)

Interpretation
The above table provides the summary statistics of both the variables No of Absences and Final Grade. We calculated the respective summary statistics like mean, median, standard deviation, mode, etc. For further regression analysis we select No of Absences as Independent variable, whereas Final grade as Dependent variable.

Interpretation
From the above z-scores, we observe various ranges of z-scores. The higher positive z score resembles, it is unusually large value and there is a very lesser chance in its occurrence. Hence, we choose a lower positive z-score. Therefore, we select the mean value that lies between the lower positive z scores.
