Introduction
In the recent years, there has been a new trend in the economic policy circle of United States, which is the introduction of Modern Monetary Theory (MMT). MMT is the macroeconomic theory and practice that describes the practical use of the currency in the public monopoly from the government’s central bank. It has been seen that the effects of the employment are been used as evidence that a currency monopolist is overly restricting the supply of the financial assets needed to pay taxes and thus fulfilling the savings motive also. In this essay, the detailed comparison will be made on the Congressional testimony from Randall Wray and paper written by Sebastian Edwards on Modern Monetary Theory. All the aspects will be argued upon, which are been discussed in both the articles.

In this article, Wray (2019) has discussed about the approaches of the government regarding the government budgets, deficits and the debts. MMT is the topic, which irrespective of the controversy is a centre for discussion. The writer further described that many policy makers are really worried regarding the practicality of this policy and even termed this as dangerous and a crazy idea. However, the writer argued that MMT is based on a sound economic theory and in the article; the writer further highlighted the empirical facts that are associated with the goal of explaining the cause and consequences of the intransigent federal budget deficits and the growing national government debt.
Modern Monetary Theory by Sebastian Edwards
In this article, the writer has discussed on the MMT policy of United States. Edwards (2019) have discussed about the concept of MMT has run against the received wisdom among economist and many have rejected this policy. They have further said that the MMT policy has no practical implication on the betterment of the economy and even described that considering this policy is a disaster for the economy as a whole. However the writer have further added that the supporters of MMT have said that critics have even did not understand the real purpose as the supporters further added that the countries with currencies of their own can and government do not have to face the hard constraints of budget. They have also added that the central banks have the monopoly power to issue the money, hence they can print money and doing so will not cost them any additional resources.
