In this assignment, you will write a report for the local wildlife organization in your area. Your report will also be published in the regional paper called“Green Life”.For each of the topics given below, write a one page report. Explain how a change in one population in an aquatic or terrestrial ecosystem can affect the entire hierarchy of living things in that system. In addition, explain the effects on trophic levels and what factors are affecting the population you are researching. Use the terms you have learned or studied in this unit, but make it readable for your target audience.

1. Explain how the disappearance of crayfish from a lake causes a decrease in the bass population of the lake.


2. Explain how the disappearance of beaver from an ecosystem causes a decrease in the wolf population in that ecosystem.
