Each student will be required to write a 4 page literature review on a psychologically-related topic (50 points). A general description of your topic may be derived from your text book. Data used to create the body of your paper however,
must come from peer reviewed journal articles
. Data from simple google searches, Wikipedia, etc. are not appropriate.

For those students who are unfamiliar with conducting literature searches, please seeLiterature Review Assignmentrecorded tutorial found under the Media Gallery tab in Canvas. If additional instruction is needed for conducting literature searches, it is the student’s responsibility to seek an appointment with staff from the library.

For your Literature Review assignment you may use any database that containspeer reviewedjournals, but I recommend that you use PSYCHOLOGY AND BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES COLLECTION and/or MEDLINE. You should become familiar with how to use the “and” and “or” commands when searching in Ebscohost.

Professional writing consistent with APA writing style is expected. See Appendix B for a sample of writing style and source acknowledgement, Appendix C for writing hints and Appendix D for scoring criteria for the literature review. Literature reviews must be submitted through Canvas according to dates posted in Canvas and found in this document. Please note that papers must be saved as doc, docx, or rtf document types. Late papers will be accepted at the discretion of the professor and only under dire circumstances.

ThePurdue OWLis an excellent resource for learning APA style (owl.purdue.edu/owl/purdue_owl(Links to an external site.).html).When on the OWL website and using the menu options on the left, selectAPA Guide, thenAPA Style 7thEdition, and lastly,APA Formatting and Style Guide (7thEdition). From within theAPA Formatting and Style Guide (7thEdition)familiarize yourself with the following:

General Format, In-text Citations: Basic, In-text Citations: Author/Authors, Reference List: Basic Rules, Reference List: Author/Authors, Reference List: Articles in Periodicals, and any otherReference Listappropriate to the sources you will be referencing in your paper.

See alsoAPA Headings and Seriation. You should findAPA Sample Paperto be very helpful.

Please note: a literature review is analogous to the introduction section of a research paper. Do not include an abstract, methods, results, and discussion sections. You should however, have good introduction and summary paragraphs.

Introduction
According to the words of John (
2020) Cases of adolescent sex, offences are on the rise. Adolescent sex offence refers to minors or adolescents who sexually harass others. These committed are committed mostly in homes or schools. Many cases go unreported because the perpetrators are well-known people, and the victim feels that he ought to protect them as they may be family members or close relatives and friends (John et al 2020, p.4309). According to the words of White (2019), the victim has been psychologically disturbed and may require some form of therapy, such as counselling to help him understand and cope with all that has been happening to him (White 2019, p.12)
2.0 Literature Review
According to the words, Gibson (2020) of It is well known that adolescent offenders do not just snap and engage in this vile offence. These offenders must have had a rough childhood where they might have been harassed or even molested. They felt helpless and bullied, they also had no protectors who would protect them against people that aggressed them and that were hurtful to them (Leban et al 2020, p.22). According to the words of White (2019), The feelings of being unworthy of love and protection got to them as did the need for being powerful and making others submit to them. According to the words of Richard (2018) Adolescent sex offenders may have lived in societies that do not care much for good morals. Growing up in a society where violence and drugs are a norm, coupled with parents who are drunkards or too busy trying to make a living, will push adolescents to crimes, among them adolescence sex offences (Temitope et al 2018, p.10874).
According to the words of Dixit (2016), Parents and adults around the children play a part in forming a child’s future traits. They should be good role models that the children will emulate in future. Doing so will play a significant role in doing away with delinquencies that the society has experienced and is trying hard to address them (Dixit et al 2016,p.72).
According to words of Leban (2020) adolescent sexual offences are closely linked to bullying and victimization, drug...
