Donati et al. (2013) studied the gambling behavior of high school students in a suburban area in Tuscany, Italy. The data set includes the gender of the 994 students and their answers to various gambling-related questions. The response variable indicates the gambling problem severity of the respondent (classified as a non-problem gambler or at-risk/problem gambler). The explanatory variables measure probabilistic reasoning, knowledge of basic mathematical principles, sensation seeking, and superstitious thinking of the participants, their perception of the economic profitability of gambling and their parental and peer gambling behavior. Fit a logistic model to the data starting from a model where gender is the only explanatory variable, and proceed by adding more explanatory variables one at a time. What would be your final model?
