Dollard and Miller broke down the learning process into four main conceptual parts: drive, cue, response, and reinforcement. Apply their model to describe how you learned something.
1. Skinner discussed three types of reinforcement: positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, and punishment. These techniques are often evident in the context of child rearing. Which of them did your parents use most often in teaching you how to behave? What about your childhood friends? Did their parents and yours use similar or different strategies? Which technique do you think is the best strategy to employ in rearing a child? Does one stand out above all the rest, or do you feel that which strategy is best depends on the context?
