Significance of the Research Question
A look at the conceptual framework of the study shall first need to be establ
ished when looking at the Significant of the research question. The research question forms the basis of the study that helps to guide on the path the research will take. It forms the part of the objectives and aims that the study is trying to achieve.
Theoretical studies carried out on the subject changes in diet for international studies shall play an active role in the research. This research will seek to support theoretical studies that support the changes in diet that international students have to cope with in the new country. The study will look at the factors influences change in diet for international students, but with Australia offering as the study area (Hales, 2012).
The study will look at the various types of diet that are common in Australia. This will aim at answering the Significance of the research question that asks, “Does the diet of international students change when they arrive in Australia?” For this to be complete, background information on the diet of Australian people will have to be looked at (Tickell, 2004).
The background to the study will help further the significance of the study. It looks at the history of diet for the Australian people and how it has changed over the years. It will highlight the significant changes that have changed Australian cuisines over the years. It will highlight the influence of migration especially after the Second World War and the introductions made to the already existing cuisines (Treloar et al..., 2000).
For the significance of the research question to be further established it will cover other food diets in other continents. It will look at the diets especially in Africa and Asia. This is due to the fact that they form the highest percentage of people who visit Australia for studies. It will look at their diets in detail and highlight the changes that the international students have to cope with and the changes they have to make on their diet (Lindgreen and Hingley, 2009).
Research Techniques of the Study
This study will use a correlation survey design that will try to find out the degree to which the diet of international students changes when they live in Australia. It will also apply the phenomenological research method that will focus on sampling that is idiographic to understand the changes in the diet of international students in correlation to the diet to which they are used.
