Answer- The American Nation is founded over the pillars of Democracy, Human Rights and ‘Right to Speech’ for every citizen residing inside it. It even interferes against the Human Rights violations, conducted by other Nations against their marginalised communities. For every democracy to survive, the right balance between the people, their chosen representatives and other community or pressure groups need to be maintained. The American democracy has till now displayed an extraordinary balance between all the three forces, with some minor exceptions as well.
The Political elites in America get to exercise much of the power in comparison to the other two classes and it is justified to a large extent, in my view. The people get to choose their Political Representatives. The Representatives are chosen based on their party manifesto and their influence in their own constituency. If the chosen representatives, whom we are addressing as Political elites, don’t get to exercise powers, then how could they be able to implement the promises made by them to the public?
