Research claim that the human body possesses an endocannabinoid system that plays an important role in maintaining the homeostasis of the body. This aspect makes marijuana or cannabis an important drug in medical science. The growing use of medicinal cannabis across the United States of America holds sufficient consideration about the medicinal effects and benefits of cannabis (CNN). Treatment of cancer, protection of brain after the mild cerebral attack, easing the pain of multiple sclerosis, anxiety, Arthritis, Alzheimer's epileptic seizures, inflammatory bowel diseases, Parkinson's diseases, Hepatitis C, reversing the carcinogen effects of tobacco, treating Dravet's syndrome, and many more have witnessed the positive medicinal impact of Cannabis.
A Gateway drug is a drug that leads to the use of serious and dangerous addictive substances. Some experts and studies claim that marijuana is considered to be one of the gateway drugs because the use of marijuana leads to the usage of chemical drugs like heroin. But it is worth mentioning that no such empirical pieces of evidence were established which confirms the fact that usage of soft drugs like marijuana will lead to the use of hard drugs.
