Conflict theory and its implications
Conflict theory is a famous sociological theory that states that the central reason for the rise of conflicts and tensions in a society is uneven distribution of power, status and resources. These conflicts then become the base for a change in society. The main elements of conflict theory are power, status and wealth. Power refers to control over resources, wealth and politics. Resources are the material available for use in a society and status is the standing of individuals in a social hierarchy (Simon, 2016).
