Antecedents of the development of psychoanalysis
The term psychoanalysis was first used by Sigmund Freud in the year 1896. He was initially dealing with hypnosis under the influence of Breuer until the mid-1890s he discovered the theory of psychoanalysis. For three decades Freud played with the concept, cultured and amended and redefined the study of psychology with new and advanced ideas. By, 1899 Freud published a book called ‘The Interpretation of Dreams’ in which he stated that it is the royal road to the knowledge of unconsciousness in mental life.
