As the proverbial statement goes, points of views are shaped with what people experience in real life rather than in their imagination. In fact, Saunders’ Victory Lap is one of such stories where the author uses all the craft of putting in his point of view about the American life in the modern times. Through the actions and thinking patterns of the central characters Alison and Kyle, he tries to pull down the curtain of dreaminess and reveals the ugly truth of loneliness and alienation with which, the new generation grows in American premises. The lens is quite on when he states the mental strength of the two young teens who know each other but by their faces and neighborly acquaintances merely.
