Importance of phonology and its application to both speaking and writing in English.
Awareness of phonological is essential for learning to comprehend any language properly. It acts as pillar to learn reading and writing the sets of alphabets for any language that one aspires to understand. As per the research, it provides conclusive facts about the criticality of phonology in communicating in a particular language. If one does not have proper knowledge of phonology and other phoneme skills can be predictor of poor grasp on reading and spelling development. With reference “What’s Your Language Strategy?” to (Neeley, T. and Kaplan, R., 2014) phonology is the domain of the study that highlights pattern of sounds in a language. It provides the knowledge about the structure and systematic pattern of the sound in language taken into the consideration. Essentially, it implies how the speech is produced with respect to a language. Therefore, categorical linkage of sounds of speech in a language providing the listener how the speaker has organized the speech such that correct meaning is conveyed by speaker and same is interpreted by the listener. Phoneme is the fundamental unit of speech which combined with other phonemes can result to establish meaningful words therefore giving rise to sentence.
