Introduction
There has been transformation in the system of expansion and development of organizations to
become multinational and multicultural organizations at global level. They include clients,
customers, and employees from varying backgrounds having different experiences. Leaders
need to work strategically in making all types of decisions which requires attainment of
leadership qualities appropriate for the business organization as well as according to the external
environment. Achieving competitive advantage in terms of quality and price has become the
basis for survival in the global environment which requires assuring strategic decision making in
both collocated as well as virtual working environment. The paper discusses about the role of the
leader in making strategic and ethical decisions in global virtual and collocated environment.
Leader’s role in the organization's strategic decision-making
Leaders provide guidance to move in the right direction by achieving their goals and fulfilling
their responsibilities towards organisation as a whole. Role of leaders is laying out the strategies
to be followed by the people working under them for realising their targets in a specific project
whether in collocated working environment or at virtual global environment. Hence, a good
leader would have good values so that it can be applied over action plans of the organisations. It
is his responsibility to generate positive outcomes for the stakeholders of the company such as
