Details:Because of recent financial disasters in the news, the board of directors of your company decided that they wanted to ascertain that the organization’s code of ethics was appropriate and in agreement with the Code of Professional Conduct (CPC) as adopted by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Ethics in business is very important. The code of professional conduct of American Institutes
of public accountants has two divisions like Rules and Principles while discussing about code
of profes
sional conduct. Frameworks for the rules have been provided by principles. .As per
the AICPA code of professional conduct, there are six basic principles which may be used as
the guide line by the accountants while practicing accountings. They are as below:
i. Responsibilities.
ii. The public interest.
iii. Integrity
iv. Independence and objectivity.
v. Due Care
vi. Scope and Nature of Services.
For the above said six principles, the primary purpose would be good business ethics. Well
defined set of professional code of conduct does have lots of value additions to the
performance of the company. We are always of the view that a company following good code
of professional conduct may be for employees, suppliers or any stakeholders has become
successful.
