Introduction
The pandemic situation has affected lives and the economy as well. Countries such as the UK, US, Canada and India have experienced the most side effects of the continuous lockdown. The business in the US and Canada has been faced with a difficulty to even pay their debts in the market and grow their business.
On the other hand, the mortality rate is strikingly high among these counties, which lead to the continuous lockdown. The involvement of the government in the distinguished countries and the various different issues are connected with this topic. This essay will shed light on the stay at home order and the way that order has created a polarised opinion among the citizens. This essay will highlight some of the analytics and pros or cons about this order.
Stay at Home Concept
The government has to circulate the stay at home order to avoid this situation. There are various opinions in society about this order. This order has displayed some positive effects on society and even sometimes revealed some of the negative aspects in certain fields especially such as economics. Covid -19 effect has created a deep impact over the mental health of the people. The citizens are tired of leading the routine of life and 50% people even lost their job in this attack.
These situations are indirectly provoking the issues of reopening the business. Citizens on the other hand have two different polarized opinions about this particular topic (Aum, Lee & Shin, 2021). Some of them are realising the possibilities of health risk and some of them are concentrating on the downfall of the economics between these two countries. The mixed opinion of citizens accompanied with the professional opinion and analytics support has been working over this topic after the initial attack of Covid-19.
The stay at home process started by the US government and the Canadian Government in the year 2020. The government will control the public movement and gatherings. This step has been taken by the governments in order to control the Covid -19 infection by attempting the quarantine strategies. The name of this process suggested by the Mayor of Michigan. The local authority had realised that the ‘lockdown’ term could have been a little confusing for the citizens and provide a panic shock among the citizens as the martial law is connected with this topic.
The stay at home order has been generated to alert the local people to stay at home and stop the unnecessary roaming around in the city (Al-Abadleh et al., 2021). The local shopping malls and markets have been forcefully closed by the government. The police power and involvement of authorities has not been defined enough although the vital issues such as the varieties of the different steps such as the changing fine and constant awareness programs circulation through the media has been displayed a positive effect over these countries.
The stay at home concert is based on the quarantine statistics as well as professionals have been suggested to promote this process in order to control the pandemic (Lerner, Newgard & Mann, 2020). This order has helped to evacuate the dense populated areas and prevent the Covid-19 infection although these countries had faced a devastating effect in the economy (Lerner et al., 2020). The GDP rate fell by 3.5% in the US, which was the next disappointing performance since 1946 (Lerner et al., 2020). The Canada government has declared the stay at home rule although the consequences are also devastating.
Current Situation in Canada
The stay at home order has been declared and applied on the march in 2020 and reissued in March 2021, even after the increment of pandemic cases. The business market has been also affected by the pandemic effect and the GDP has shrank by 5.4%, which has been recorded as the worst case in the situation (Edmonds & Flahault, 2021). Canada mortality rate was not strikingly high although the number of Covid positive patients were high, which lead to the second phase of stay at home order. The positive cases with more contagious variants forced the government to pass the stay at home order over all Canada.
This situation has been creating a devastating effect over the mental health of the citizens (Tuite, Greer, De Keninck & Fishman, 2020). Public gatherings are prohibited in this situation, which also leads to mental depression. This altogether has created a polarised opinion and a group of citizens have already applied to the government regarding the stay at home order and wanted it to be demolished soon. The Canadian government on the other hand are keener towards the vaccination process and conducting multiple vaccines procedure.
A huge number of population are unpopulated in Canada and this situation has a direct effect over economy. The Canadian government are trying to provide the substitute jobs and more over the shelter for the Canadian citizens.
