Design a series of questions that could be asked about the nature of a person’s vision problems that could help identify the area that might be injured. (Assume the neuroimaging machines are broken). Pick three from the example problems listed below. Make sure to provide reasons for your questions, and describe how the problem affects the neurological connections and circuits.
Example Problems:
·Complete loss of vision – one eye
·Complete loss of vision – both eyes
·Loss of vision on the right side of the body
·Loss of vision on the left side of the body
·Loss of color vision
·Blurred vision
·Loss of night vision
·Loss of peripheral vision
·Loss of ability to perceive motion
·Loss of ability to recognize objects
Think about how to determine whether the problem is occurring in the eyes or in the brain. If the problem is in the eyes, think about how to determine whether it is an optical problem or a neural problem. If it is a neural problem, how can you determine what neurons on the retina might be affected? If the problem is in the brain, think about how to determine whether it is in the temporal pathway or the parietal pathway and how to narrow down the particular area that is most likely to be affected.
Your response must be a minimum length of two double-spaced pages. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations and be cited per APA guidelines.
